Rocker vases are the newest design in my quest to create versatile ways to display any amount of flowers, from a single bud to a small bouquet. These pieces have flower openings on each end, making arrangement easy and fun. Give them a little nudge, and they'll dance back and forth for you, but I've made them on the heavy side so that they'll also remain stable when desired.

Inspired by deep charcoal embers, these pieces are wheel-thrown with unglazed, fractured carvings that contrast with mirror black glazed interiors and gold luster accents. They are porcelain coated with thick layers of black slip and hundreds of hand-carved texture lines made with an X-Acto blade. Signed on bottom. Oxidation fired to cone 6 and 018.
