The Volcanic fields bowl is thrown from a dark clay body, altered with a spiral design, and decorated with several layers of heavily textured slip in a process designed to allow the slip to crackle and in some areas release to reveal bare clay. The piece has been lovingly sanded to its final finish. Over time, very minor flaking of the outer slip later may occur. This will not damage the pot and will only enhance its character. Inspired by the moss and lichen covered lava fields of Iceland.
Glaze on the interior ensures food safety, but due to the exterior surface this piece should be hand-washed. Please avoid the dishwasher and microwave.
