This Artifact Vessel is crafted using ancient coil-building techniques. Formed from a dark, smooth clay body, it is meticulously decorated in wild clay slips and melted volcanic ash, accented with areas of a glaze made from wild clay and wood ash. This one-of-a-kind statement piece feels to me as though it was pulled from the earth itself. Inspired by my travels in La Paz, Bolivia, the Artifact Vessel honors Bolivia’s mountainous landscapes and cultural reverence for traditional craft.
This vessel is unglazed and should be used for dry goods only. Not fit for wet or acidic foods. Please avoid the dishwasher and microwave.
